Barlick Tales

Set in and around Barnoldswick, in the heart of Pendle Witch Country, Barlick Tales is a collection of spellbinding mysteries that will draw you into our landscape.
Truth is stranger than fiction, they say, and nowhere is this more true than in ‘Barlick'. Explore the myths and legends of a village steeped in history and craft. Decide for yourself what is fact and what is fiction.
Visit us and retrace the journeys taken within these pages. Befriend the characters and discover for yourself the secret of The Midnight Rose.
Maybe you will find yourself a living legend. Maybe you will become folklore.
Barlick Tales is published by Bernulf Publishing and is available from November 27th for £7.99 + P&P online, or from all good book outlets in the Pendle area.

Three distinct but nicely entwined short stories giving a wonderful read from start to finish.
A natural use of language, with a local flavour, gives the book a simple, easy to read flow which makes it very accessible. Also a true empathy with the characters, draws in the reader, enabling them to truly believe the thoughts and feelings of the youngsters portrayed.
Delightful twists and turns make the stories nothing short of Hollywood blockbusters in parts with a spine tingling, gasp inducing moment leaping out unexpectedly in every story. A delicious mixture of the spiritual, magical and mystical with a well grounded reality
I particularly enjoyed the historical/local knowledge and background in the third tale, which was clearly carefully researched but also thoughtfully intertwined into the prose so as to inform but not overpower the action and intrigue.
Jamie's Mission
You have to face your fears - that's what Jamie's older sister always said.
But when the horror of the Dark Flame threatens to destroy all that he holds dear, will Jamie be strong enough to overcome those fears and win the ensuing battle?
Can he restore the White Light to its rightful place? And why has the mysterious great stag, Diligence, come to help him?
Fast moving and fascinating, Jamie's Mission is a tale of friendship, loyalty and triumph over adversity.
Jamie's Mission is published by Bernulf Publishing and is available from November 26th for £6.99 + P&P online , or from good book outlets across the Pendle area.

A faster paced, more intense read, with a hair-raising appeal that will definitely captivate the audience, I defy readers to put this down once they have picked it up.
The story offers action and excitement throughout, quite terrifying in places! Again very well written, this story will keep the reader gripped from start to finish and rushing to turn the page.
A fantastic and magical story told with a realism that makes the action seem so believable and enthralling. Interspersed with family values, relationships and growing up the story exudes a warmth and appeal as the reader gets to know the characters and wills them to succeed.
Both titles are available to purchase on line from Bernulf Publishing.
